Geometric Pool with 7' x 7' spa in Conroe, TX

In Willowridge Estates, a wooded enclave in Conroe, Texas, the homeowners wanted a resort-caliber outdoor environment that felt like it had always belonged under the pines. The lot had other ideas.

The rear of the property sat three and a half feet higher than the house, and every inch of rain that fell on that grade ran toward the foundation. The mature pines and hardwoods that made the setting worth building for stood exactly where heavy equipment needed to go. Grading, drainage, and access all had to be solved before a single yard of concrete was placed.

Rather than flatten the problem, Texas Custom Outdoors built with it. The elevation change became the organizing idea: a sequence of Ivory travertine terraces stepping the yard down from the tree line to the water, each level defined by a low stacked-stone wall and a planting bed cut directly into the deck. Multiple drainage runs were engineered beneath the terraces, so what began as a liability now reads as deliberate architecture — and the descent gives the backyard a processional quality. You arrive at the pool rather than simply walking out to it.

The 32' × 17'6" geometric pool anchors the lower terrace. Its bond beam is notched to receive a raised stacked-stone wall carrying a sheer descent that spills across the shallow end, giving the pool a moving edge without a vanishing-edge site. A raised spa occupies the opposite corner and spills back into the main body. A generous tanning ledge with LED bubblers holds two in-water chaise loungers. The interior is finished in Wet Edge Signature Matrix in Coastal Blue — chosen to hold a clear, saturated color under a heavy canopy, where filtered light flattens lesser finishes. Ivory travertine in a French pattern runs the decking and coping, wrapping every terrace, planter, and step in one continuous material.
